With all the searching it takes to find the right tablet; we’ve decided to step in and make the work a little bit easier for you with our HP Slate 500 review. We think you’re really going to love all this tablet has to offer.
There are so many tablets to choose from and we think selecting the right sized screen for you is one of the most important things when it comes to convenience. What works best for you? At 8.9 inches, this tablet gives you the best of both worlds; a lightweight (1.7 pound) device that gives you a screen that’s not too big, but not too small.
Unlike many tablets on the market today, this HP Slate 500 gives amazing sound quality. Watching movies or videos on this thing is going to blow you away. It’s amazing that such a small item can give out such enormous and crisp sound.
If you’re a Window’s user, you’re going to have no problem at all getting used to the functionality and navigation. Windows is a very user-friendly operating system that even the most un-technical of individuals can use. Just like your computer, this tablet has a sleep mode that the unit can easily be awoken from if you need to quickly jump on to check your email or update your latest project. This means less time waiting to boot up.
Coming with a modern-looking docking station with an HDMI port gives you more convenience. You can set your tablet on a table and share your latest photos, music and/or videos with your friends and family. What we love about the docking station most is how lightweight and simple it is. It matches this device perfectly. There’s also a USB port that allows you to hook up multiple other devices to this unit such as a printer, or wireless cards for easier and faster data transfer and/or sharing.
With many tablets these days, the Wi-Fi signal isn’t all that strong. This is definitely not the case with this tablet. Customers report being able to be twice as far from their internet sources without experiencing any problems; due to two built in antennas.
Don’t get us wrong, we love this HP Slate 500 but with only 4 hours of battery life, we are a bit upset. This tablet does a lot of things; it would have been nice to get more time out of this device without needing to plug in and charge. When you’re on the go, that’s not very convenient.
Also, the accelerometer is known to not function consistently. This will affect things such as games that you must tilt the screen to play or the device being able to switch from landscape to portrait mode. For the price of this product, it would be nice to have more consistency.
If you’re still not sure this HP Slate 500 is right for your personal needs as well as budget, you may be interested in the HD TouchPad; which is another very popular tablet right now.
